Seven Facts about Null


1. He has a severe anxiety disorder.
*insert noun/name/place/action/etc here* = SCARY. And medication only helps a little bit. Really, the only place he’d feel completely relaxed in is a sealed fallout shelter buried deep, deep underground with the only entrance impossible to access except for some means of high explosives.


2. He doesn’t remember much of his past.
Age, name, family, childhood.. Not that it bothers him, or has any desire to figure it out. As far as he’s concerned, there must have been a good reason to forget everything prior to the Institute where he’s spent a good chunk of his life. It was probably scary anyway, though it’s pretty frightening trying to imagine what could be scarier than the Institute! *_*


3. He gave himself his name.
Since he can’t remember what his real name was and the Institute just assigned him a number and used that and only that. Null is soft on the ears and easy to remember. And maybe if people think of him as ‘null and void’ they’ll leave him alone and forget he’s here. (Or as much as you can forget a looming skyscraper of a person is there.)


4. Size Does Matter.
Not HIS size. It doesn’t matter who you are, he’ll automatically assign you the role of King of the Castle with himself playing the role of an ant. Actually, he hates how tall he is. He’d rather be a midget where it’s harder to see anything. :sweat


5. Kids - Not so scary
Mostly anyway. And okay yeah, Truant is really damned scary, especially when mad, but at least he knows Truant would never hurt him. Much. But they’re so much smaller than him, they don’t pose much of a threat anyway. (See #4) He rather envies how carefree kids usually are too.


6. He loves to read.
And people watch as well. Best way ever to forget where you are- spend all your time reading/watching what other people are doing. Reading however, is infinitely safer though, because you never have to worry about a book jumping up and attacking you. Actually wait- Scratch that. Papercuts. :damnit


7. Really, all he wants is a hug.
He knows overall he’s really quite pathetic. He doesn’t really have any goals or ambitions let alone the confidence to go after them. Even with how intimidating everything is, all he really hopes for is for a bit of peace and that people will treat him with a little bit of kindness now and then. Then maybe the world would be a little less scary.
