1. He is chronically ill.
If asked, he’ll just tell you it’s some rare disease effecting the nervous system because it’s easier to explain than how a certain person conducting certain human experiments royally fucked him over. He wears a nanotech device on his cheek/temple as it’s vital to ensuring his brain continues functioning at least semi-normally, though he’s still often bedridden from attacks. Though he’s fully aware that he can expect to die at any moment, he’s accepted this fact without complaint or anger.
2. He is a Master of Zen.
You’ll never see him loose his temper or calm. It’s a nice side-effect of having the Grim Reaper as your best friend- It makes you realize what’s truly important in life. Time spent in anger, sadness or stress is time wasted. Much better to sit back and enjoy the ride while it lasts.
